19 Weeks

Anita's Babies - 0405

Well the last couple of weeks have been all over the place, our phone has been playing up and our internet kept kicking us off every now and then. We contacted AOL and there was nothing wrong with the connection, and we finally found it was BT that was causing the problems. So we missed about a week of using the internet, I must admit I was pretty lost without it - Paul said it was great he actually got to talk to me and I answered him and was looking at him whilst I was talking to him (bless).

After my disappointing midwife appointment, I spoke to other parents of twins to see if they had similar problems. I got some very good responses and advice of what to do if I did want to check if my babies had downs syndrome. Some people suggested the amnio, which I really didn't want to do, I didn't want to put my babies lifes at risk so we didn't really need to discuss that option. Others suggested a 4D scan which is around £200.00, and although we discussed this at length, we wasn't really sure if it was what we wanted. I wouldn't say that money wasn't an issue, but we felt that at this late stage could we really terminate the babies if something was wrong - after all we already a beautiful healthy girl. We left it in the hands of God last time, so we've decided to do the same this time too. We only had a couple of weeks to wait before the scan so I'm sure they would pick up any abnormalities at the scan.

I've been feeling lots of movement this week and its mainly behind my belly button, sometimes it feels like its about to pop out. Both Katie and Paul have been trying to feel the babies move, but no luck there, its only me that can feel it - wow its so special to feel those movements, its an amazing feeling and I wish Paul could feel what I feel, it must be really hard being the man at this stage. I know us women have all the sickness, tiredness etc, but we do get lots of benefits when the babies are growing and moving around inside of us. I am a little worried though because I can only feel movement in one area as such so I'm worrying that one of the babies isn't moving or if something is wrong. Paul says Im worrying too much about things and that Im growing well (very well indeed). I think Im growing well too but other people have said that I'm fairly small for 19 weeks with twins - so that has made me worry too. I'm even looking at other pregnant women and I want to go up to them to ask how many weeks they are. I can't believe that I am worrying more over this pregnancy than I ever did with Katie's. I know I found out pretty late with Katie, but I just got on with it, I feel like I'm worrying at every stage and its not like me to do that - probably my hormones.

Not a lot has happened this week, but we are all looking forward to the England match against Portugal. I have decided to go to the pub to watch it, but this time we are changing the venue so I can sit down through the match (I suppose there is a first for everything).

At least I'll only have another week before my scan and I just can't wait.

See you all next week x

Anita
