“Wear it pink” on Friday 27th October to raise money for breast cancer research

On Friday 27th October people across the UK will be donning pink to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign’s annual ‘wear it pink’ event. Now in its fourth year, it's the largest one-day fundraiser during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and has raised over £3.6 million to date.

“Wear it pink” is the original and best one-day fundraising event during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). Celebrities including Dame Shirley Bassey and Trisha Goddard will be among those helping to turn the nation pink by simply dressing in pink and donating £2 for breast cancer research.

Breast cancer kills more than 1000 women in the UK every month, around 41,000 women and 300 men are diagnosed with it every year and one in nine women will develop it at some point in their lifetime. Breast cancer is the most common of female cancers but not all the news is bad - early diagnosis and treatment have improved survival rates significantly over the last 20 years.

Breast Cancer Campaign is the only charity that specialises in funding independent breast cancer research across the UK. Its aim is to find a cure by funding research which looks at improving diagnosis and treatment, which leads to better understanding of how breast cancer develops and ultimately either curing the disease or preventing it.
