Dear All,

Thanks so much to all of you that took time to complete the holiday questionnaire. Over 230 replies were received.

We were really surprised to find that of the 72% of you who have planned a holiday this summer, almost 60% will be taking that holiday in UK.

By far and away the most popular area was the West Country-Devon and Cornwall. This area received over double the votes of the next most popular region, Scotland.

We asked what the main reasons were for the choice of holiday destination and the most important reason given was ‘affordability’ (83 responses), closely followed by the ‘family friendliness’(74 responses) of the chosen location.

There was also an excellent response to the request to nominate the organisation or venue offering ‘Best Holiday Experience for Families with young children’ in the UK. It was a close run contest with Haven and Butlins resorts across the UK being highly recommended by many people, who specifically highlighted the range of activities available rain or shine at these resorts. A particular mention for Butlins, Minehead and Skegness-these resorts were specifically named by several respondents for their overall family holiday excellence. Also, Haven Prestatyn was singled out for not only having lots of things to do on site, but also being based in a fantastic area of Wales with lots to do nearby. Haven and Butlins were both praised for ‘all round good value’.

However, the overall winner of our Award goes to Center Parcs. All 4 Center Parcs sites in the Uk were mentioned by name and here are some of the comments we received as to why these resorts are so popular with so many people:

• ‘Activities for all ages in a safe environment’.
• ‘We felt that our children were safe and welcome at all times and when we left them with centre staff I was at ease with the staff and felt my children were in very safe hands-allowing my husband and I some adult quality time together’.

We told Center Parcs about their Award and the Center Parcs' Sales & Marketing Director Colin Whaley said, "We are thrilled to have been acknowledged by forparentsbyparents.com as the 'Best Holiday Experience for Families with young children' in the UK. Thanks to all who voted for us’.
