Summer feels like it is here now and with the count down to summer holidays, I have felt myself getting excited and anxious about the months ahead. The children sense the end of term approaching as well, they seem tired and excited about the break, I hope this year they will be able enjoy running around outside carefree and happy as they have done in years gone by.

Like many of us we have to balance work with family life and the summer holidays always present a particular challenge in organisation and logistics! I have spent seemingly whole days trying to arrange activities and care for the children and still it does not feel sorted. I am lucky in that my parents are able to help out and have the kids for a whole week, which they all absolutely love. It gives them all quality time with each other and I know the grandparents cherish it.

Once the holiday logistics are done I can then look forward to getting ready for the family holiday which will be in August this year. We are all soooo excited about it and I really feel we are in need of a break to re-charge the batteries, I can’t wait! I am really glad we booked and paid for it last year as I am not sure I would want to spend the money on it right now with the economy the way it is at the moment.

I am going to spend a few nights this month trying to get the children's clothes sorted out as I start to work out what they will need for holiday. They seem to be able to wear things out in no time and I am still thinking of a pair of trousers as new and they have worn the knees out! It will take an age to sort but I know from previous years that as soon as I work out what they have for holidays it will mean a trip down to the shops. This year I am going to try to avoid the panic, we will see!
