As we are not health professionals, we do not feel that it is appropriate for us to provide medical information on the site. Instead we will use this section to provide links to organisations and web sites that offer parents information and support on day-to-day medical issues which they may confront. If you know of a good reference site please forward the details to: contributions@forparentsbyparents.co.uk If you have specific worries you should contact your Doctor or Health Visitor.

The Family Health Maze, published by the National Family and Parenting Institute (NFPI), aims to give parents basic, practical information about their rights and responsibilities where their child's health is concerned. It also offers advice on negotiating the health service, from school nurses to specialist treatment, and offers reliable sources that parents can turn to for help and advice. Can I see my child's medical records? These are the sorts of questions answered in this colourful 32-page book arranged in helpful, easy to follow sections that add up to a useful source of reference for parents, whatever the age of their child. For details of how to obtain a copy of the book or to download a pdf version visit www.e-parents.org/data/info/tips.htm. |
