Crunch Time - How everyday life is killing the future by Adrian Monck and Mike Hanley with foreword by Kirsty Young.

Published 17 April 2007 by Icon Books Price £9.99 paperback

Environmental disaster; global terrorism; poverty; war and greed: what kind of world are we leaving for future generations?

In Crunch Time, two journalists on either side of the planet - Adrian Monck (in London) and Mike Hanley (in Australia) – argue about how what we do now will make or break the future. Take the simple things that we do everyday - drive to work, buy toys for our children, prepare meals– they are all conspiring to break it.

Crunch Time is a two-way debate in which the journalists – both fathers of young families - argue passionately with each other about the causes of these issues and the consequences of not taking action now.

What Monck and Hanley aim to help us understand in Crunch Time are the critical decisions that we need to make now if we want to leave anything of value for our children, and a cogent argument about how this could be done.

Adrian Monck is an award-winning broadcast journalist who has worked with CBS News, ITN and Sky News, pioneered undercover reporting for News at Ten, and helped found and run Five News. He has judged the BAFTAs, the RTS Journalism and Television awards, and the British Press Awards, and is currently President of the Media Society.

Mike Hanley is writer and journalist. He has written for Reuters, the Economist, and the Financial Times, as well as a slew of other titles. He lives in Sydney with his family.
