Learn with Thomas

Egmont Publishing introduces a brand-new series, Learn with Thomas. Designed to stimulate, educate and engage toddlers and their natural curiosity, each book develops a key early learning skill – helping toddlers communicate and express themselves, and grow into happy children.

Learn with Thomas books are designed to encourage discovery of key learning concepts, and inspire parents and toddlers to interact. The series has been researched and developed in conjunction with educational consultant, June Wagstaff.

LEARN WITH THOMAS BRINGS YOU NUMBERS, SHAPES, COLOURS AND WORDS

NUMBERS:

Teaches early number skills. At around 18 months, toddlers begin to order numbers and recite number names. Spatial recognition and pre-writing skills are also taught here. Thomas will help your child to recognise and form numbers up to 10, and build counting skills.

SHAPES:

With a simple shaped peephole on each page, children learn about the relationship between objects and the shapes they form. Tracing the sides of the shapes with the child’s finger helps develop pre-writing skills.

COLOURS:

This book helps children develop their senses by exploring colour with Thomas. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills are also taught, through the pull-tab on each page.

WORDS:

Thomas encourages children to repeat simple words and letter sounds by matching the word jigsaw pieces to the pictures, developing essential pre-reading skills. Toddlers progressively build vocabulary and begin to learn the principles of word order.

Learning is fun with Thomas and his friends!

Learn with Thomas

The Learn with Thomas series will be available EXCLUSIVELY at Mothercare for 3 months from May 1st 2007, and will be available from August in all good book stores nationwide.
