To support the launch of the magazine you can take part in a fun viral game which gives parents and children the chance to win a years supply of the magazine. It's a maze game and players have to help Lola and Lotta get to the centre of the maze before Charlie & Marv - when they reach the centre they get a chance to enter the free prize draw, once they've found their way back out of the maze they get to watch a Charlie & Lola video clip and download a colouring page to draw a Charlie & Lola picture on. To take part in the game visit www.charlieandlola.com/magazine BBC Magazines is set to launch its first ever arts and crafts pre-school title with Charlie and Lola magazine - in shops on 9th May. Unlike other BBC pre-school magazines that focus on reading, writing and counting, this unique publication will instead encourage them to explore ideas using their own experience and imagination and will maximise play values as seen in the successful CBeebies Charlie and Lola programme. The four-weekly title, aimed at three to seven year olds, is designed for little children with big imaginations. Each interactive issue comes with a sheet of stickers and a unique craft kit with everything available in the kit for children to use in the magazine. Narrated through a child's voice, Charlie and Lola magazine will guide the reader through activities creating a world where a child can go anywhere and be anything. Hands on activities will include scribbling, cutting, sticking, folding, painting and playing. The characters of Charlie and Lola encourage social and emotional development and the magazine will support this. Whilst adopting a friendly and family orientated theme, each magazine will address everyday issues such as food, scary monsters, going to bed, getting ready, and how to overcome these. Each issue will be based on an episode of the CBeebies Charlie and Lola show, an animated series for young children focusing on the relationship between brother and sister. Pre-School Publisher Ceri Murray says: "We are very excited to be working with such a distinctive and imaginative brand. The magazine will allow children to enter the world of Charlie and Lola, where monkeys drink pink milk, dragons go to school and anything is possible. We have beeen able to create a very special and unique product which focusses on encouraging creativity, imagination and importantly - having fun."
