Our ideas
|
On this page we've included a selection of our ideas and activities
that we have done to entertain our own children over the holidays.
Do you have other ideas or activities that have worked
for you? Are you aware of events happening in your area
or maybe a web site with local information? If you can
help with any ideas please let us know via
contributions@forparentsbyparents.com and we'll add them to the site.
- swimming - local pools often have special sessions on during the summer holidays
- parks and woodland trusts - look out in your local press for activities
- cycling - lot's of off-road routes are now available
- walking - take your child rambling - its great fun and exercise
- museums - special events are often taking place
- cinema - with new films being released you will no doubt find something to suit all of you
- theatre - a trip to London to a show - fabulous!
- local activities - look for local events, such as fairy days, dance, music, tennis, football etc.
- camping in the garden - children love getting a tent out and combine it with a sleepover
- crafts - messy, but great if the weather is good to do in the garden
- gardening - get the children to join in with the watering, picking flowers (supervised)
- cooking - encouraging the children to make their own healthy food
- colouring - print off pictures from the internet and join in - its great fun
