Child-friendly campsites

A Canvas holiday is ideal for families with young children. Unlike so many holiday hotels, our sites are toddler-friendly. There is plenty of space for children to explore in safety and typically you will find baby bathing cubicles, swings, sandpits and paddling pools - everything a young child needs. Full details of what is available at each site is listed on the campsite pages.Early summer holidays

With warmer weather, quieter campsites and great value holiday prices, early summer is the perfect time to travel with young children.

Within easy reach of Channel ports

Canvas Toddler Club sites are located in Brittany, Paris, the Loire and the Vendée, all within easy reach of Channel ports. We have chosen these sites as we believe they offer facilities particularly suited to young children and tend to be quiet at night out of high season.

Free Toddler Club at 12 campsites

We offer a free Toddler Club especially for the under 4's at 12 carefully selected campsites. Toddler Club operates from May and has now been extended to 11 July. Our Toddler Club is fully equipped with safe, sturdy play equipment - with everything from small climbing frames, slides and play tunnels, to a host of toys and games. Young ones can make friends and join in with the imaginative play while you relax and enjoy a refreshing drink and chat with other parents. A Canvas children’s courier is on hand to organise activities and keep a watchful eye over the children but we ask that one of you stay to oversee their play.

Cots and high chairs - free on selected sites

It’s amazing what you have to pack for little ones so we try to help you save as much space as possible. All our mobile homes have a cot facility and if you are staying in a tent you can order a travel cot (which doubles as a playpen) - we can also provide a high chair if required. If you choose a holiday to one of our Toddler Club sites, book by 28 March and you can take advantage of our special offer of a free cot and high chair (to qualify, your first night on site must be on/before 12 July). Please reserve at the time of booking.

Travel Pack for toddlers

We provide a travel pack for children of all ages - games, hats, toys - something to amuse them on your travel to resort or something to play with in resort. Typically for 2-4's we provide.

  • A Canvas backpack
  • A T-shirt
  • A toy or beach ball
  • Typically for 0-1's we provide a Canvas bowl and spoon. (All pack contents vary from year to year)

Sleepless nights
HELP!!!

Our 14 month old son has, for the last 3 weeks, woke during the night crying. Since then we are only getting about 2 hours sleep a night and we are absolutely exhausted.(his cot is our room and previous to this he was a great sleeper.) The only thing that settles him is letting him sleep with us . I know this can be dangerous and we dont actually get any sleep as we are so scared that we will suffocate him. On a health vistors advice, we tried controlled crying which was very difficult and upsetting for us all. Even after 3-4 hours of crying he still wouldnt settle and it would wake our other 2 older children. Having spoken to a different H.V since, they have suggested that we wont solve the matter unless our son is sleeping in another room away from us. we only have a 3 bedroom house so he will have to share a room with his 12 year old brother. Does anyone have any views if this may work?
