Childcare and work - Returning to work
returning to work career advice
Message | From |
| I'm returning to work in the summer but I don't want to go back to the same place I was before and I was wondering does anybody know if I'm still entitled to ask for flexible hours even if it's not the same job I was doing when I was pregnant? | beckypoocheese![]() Fri 13th Feb 2009 6.04pm |
| If you have childcare taken care of then yes its worth it. It will give you a sense of self again instead of just being mum. There are some good online career advisers or go along to see your local job centre, they are free. Jobs that will always be there are low paid jobs like care workers or cleaners. Hope that helps | hypnojazz![]() Wed 4th Feb 2009 9.16am |
| Hi, I am a mother of 1year old boy, I try to go back to work in december and reduce my work time to part time(20hours). The cheaper childminder I could find is going to charge me 4pounds an hour. By the time I calculate the money + train fare and the tax, nothing was left and by mid-january I had to stop working. I was missing my son too much, he was teething and he was not settling down well. If you get a good job that pays very well maybe you can cope. I know if your job is out there you will get it even in this crisis. | jobabe![]() Tue 3rd Feb 2009 6.19pm |
| Hi, I am a mother returning to work and am really worried about my prospects to find a job in the current crisis. I am thinking about getting career advice from a professional. Has anyone used these services and can give me an idea of costs? Do you think it is worth it? | eta![]() Mon 2nd Feb 2009 1.55pm |
