oh no chicken pox

Message

From

my son had chicken pox at the age of 8 months, at the age of 16 months he got it again, the doctors said that if a child gets it before the age of 1yr then they are most likely to get it again. My son took it pretty well with no temperature or scars, the weird thing is that it made his eczema go away and left his skin smooth, it has only just come back now at the age of nearly 4.emotionalwreck

People who get chicken pox can be contagious starting a few days before the rash appears. This usually means that you may be contagious from the 10th to the 21st day after you were exposed to chicken pox.madminder

That's a bit ??? Cause it means children can pick chicken pox and pread it like nothing before we can realise! For the fact that they can still be aound other kids without any evidence of the scars!!!
Pls correct me if I misunderstoot the whole infection period.

the kids can return to school when spots are scabs, the contagious period is 2 weeks before the spots showm, thats what it says on nhs so if the kids are gona get them they will have got them already and no one would know.not nice at any age though are they and some kids no matter how many cases of chicken pox they are around they never seem to get itmadminder

Hi,

I know that feeling I was 8wks pregnant with my dd when my ds got the chicken pox.

I had had them b4 but caught them again (I was 17 when got the 1st time) the school where my ds caught them said it was best he got it over with while he was still young they were allowing kids with the spots still visible to go back to school when they were still infectious.

Good luck with babe bet you pleased that it aint cpox. Hope lo gets better soon.

btw my dd didn't have any birth probs thankfully.

take care.

we pretty certain that its not chicken pox now, thankfully. Chicken pox can cause birth deformities if u catchit before 20weeks (was looking on the nhs site), i didnt know german measles was bad when pregant though. tabatha had that few months ago so doubt she'll get it again soon.fingers crossed. xmummyspam1985
