With our ittle one we wud stand her up by the sofa with several little toys all the way along and she soon learnt to walk sideways toward each thing...im sure he will do it soon and suprise you!at least he lands on his bum...mine used 2 fall straight back!and she used 2 hate crawling a lot...she only does it now wen shes playing on the floor or she falls on her bum and crawls back over to the chairs or bookshelf 2 pull herself back up gud luck x | bee1![]() Wed 18th Nov 2009 10.50pm |
| Does anyone have any tips on walking. Archie is nearly ten months now and is standing (supporting himself) against the sofa, so i'm encouraging him to try and 'side step' around the sofa, by moving his feet sideways. Am I correct by doing this? He also lets go of the sofa and falls to the floor (luckly we have a big rug)but does not seem upset by landing on his bum. Archie does not seem interested in crawling and cry when on his stomach - poor thing. Any tips? | rolo![]() Wed 18th Nov 2009 10.48am |
| hi chazlene... thanks 4 writing back...i know im not the only one who worries all the time! luckily my little one has learnt to land on her bum and seems to have got her balance aswell.a little too well...shes pulli books off the shelves and turning the tv on and off when im watching something! oh well! read a good tip in a mag the other day...a woman had made a tv guard out of three bits of hardboard fixed 2gether and secured them on the wall by her tv so her little crawler cant get 2 the tv wires/plugs/PS3 ect...seems a gud idea! take care x | bee1![]() Tue 17th Nov 2009 10.58pm |

| Hi Bee1 Thank god Im not alone, Im such a worrier when it comes to my two that sometimes I think there is something wrong with me ha ha at least I know Im not alone... My son has got to the crawling stage and has been ttrying to pull at anything he can get a hold of and I am terrified that he is going to end up in casualty, I don know what its going to be like when hes walking... I cant remember being such a worrier when my daughter was his age I dont think she was as giddy as he is. I dont think us mums ever stop worring when it comes to our little ones the only thing we can do is TRY to embrace every new step our little 1s take and give them that WEE | chazlene![]() Wed 11th Nov 2009 9.08pm |
| my daughter has started walking on her own recently but now she won't sit down for more than five minutes without dragging herself to her feet and has tantrums if i tr and sit her down again! she hasnt got great balance yet and tends to fall straight backwards when she loses her balance or trips, meaning her head hits the floor with a horrible thump and i seem to spend all day running after her so i can catch her when she falls incase she really hurts herself. she also screams horribly when she falls and it takes ages to settle her down and stop her crying. ive safety proofed as much as i can but i can't do anything about the wood on the sofa arms or the tv stand and bookshelf. is there anyone else who worrys like me?! | bee1![]() Fri 6th Nov 2009 11.34pm |
