How to become pregnant - Infertility
ICSI
Message | From |
| I am an acupuncturist specailising in treating infertility and all stages of pregnancy. After 2 miscarriages I finally decided to get some treatment for myself and am now 6 months pregnant! Chinese medicine has many explainations for infertility and miscarriage where western med. will just say 'unexplained'. although I would recommend finding someone who is a member of the BAcC and properly qualified. | olori![]() Tue 19th Feb 2008 1.10pm |

i recently miscarried and have suffered with PCOS for sometime although it has only over the last 5yrs been disgnosed, i have a lovely daughter who is nearly 3 and who is the light of my life however i agree with the other lady that has said that some health people can be horrid, i had one A&E dr who acted as though i was holding him up from his lunch and yet my GP who apparently went thru the same thing has been so understanding and helpful and is starting to point us in the right direction. i also agree on the weight loss too but it is not always easy to shift..... that is my problem... i think that now only time can tell in my circumstance and i hope for the good result that i long for now. i know we have to make the best of things but it can be so bl**dy difficult at times. xx

| i would say if u are concerned talk to the midwife not read the net there is so much out there its hard to know whats right and whats not. every one is different and the net is not always the best place to look for reasurance,....how many times have u looked at nhs direct for a snotty nose and been worried sick u have some unusual disease just by answering no or yes in the wrong place!!! nah enjoy the pregnancy but speak to your midwife with concerns hun take care rest etc etc... xx | madminder![]() Fri 4th Jan 2008 9.17am |
| I agree completely...... relax. We worried and sweated and tied ourselves up in knots and it was when we go to the stage where we started to relax more that we got pg! The internet is great but dangerous at times. Stop reading, you'll drive yourself crackers! Enjoy your pregnancy hun x | nickisue![]() Fri 4th Jan 2008 1.10am |
Relax and enjoy ur pregnancy easier said than done i know but worring gets you nowhere, and stop reading up stuff on the net, only makes you panic more

| hiya, i was diagnosed with pcos from tests after having 2 miscarriages. they say that pcos doesnt cause miscarriages but i read on the internet that there can be some connection. has anybody with pcos had any miscarriages? im pregnant again and am worried, i did have a scan though and showed a viable pregnancy, heartbeat and everything. has anyone gotany suggestions? | danny![]() Thu 3rd Jan 2008 8.05pm |
| I didnt realise how common PCOS was until I was diagnosed with it! I had fertillity tratment 14 years ago, with no joy! i agree with nickiesue that weightloss can help with this, i lost loads of weight and fell naturally, 13 years later! Wish I had listened at the time about how losing weight can help, better late than never though ![]() | kagra![]() Thu 3rd Jan 2008 7.45pm |
| Hi I also have PCOS. It took 3+ years to get successfully pregnant with Kieran after an earlier m/c and I am so greatful for him. I was very lucky to fall pg both times naturally, without clomid etc and hope to do that again (am ttc again). Diet featured highly in my being able to conceive as I managed to lose nearly 4st on weight watchers in 6 months and its after losing the weight that I started to ovulate again. I wish anyone with pcos or just anyone trying to conceive all the luck in the world Nicki x | nickisue![]() Thu 3rd Jan 2008 5.51pm |
| Hi, I was diagnosed with pcos at 18! And all i got was "your still young there's plenty of time" Not very helpful when all your waking and some of your sleeping hours you'r fixated with babies! I tried 4 years for my first boy Ben (who turned out to be an emergency c-section - preaclamsia) and 9 years for my second boy Zac ( another c-section this time due to the fact the little sod was breech!) My only advice to everyone is try not to give up, Its hard and very sad sometimes but don't let the narrow minded people in your life put you off or upset you. | juliapass![]() Mon 17th Dec 2007 5.29pm |
| I suffer with polycystic ovary syndrome andb after 9 months of trying for a baby I went to my Drs who recommended that I go to the fertility clinic. after tests both me and my husband were found to have problems. Thankfully after my husband having injections for 6 months we finally started our icsi treatment and it worked 1st time. our son is due in DEcember just in time for Christmas. WE were given less than 10% chance of the treatment working so it goes to show that it is possible. My advice would be for women undergoing fertility treatment is to rest as much as possible. my gp signed me off during my treatment and I'm convinced it helped because it reduced the stress involved. I would also choose carefully who to talk to as not everyone is understanding, if there are counsellors at the fertility clinic use them! | archie![]() Fri 9th Nov 2007 9.50am |
